Mark Strigl is a musician, television producer, blogger, podcaster, father and husband. He has studied and followed hard rock music for over 30 years. He founded Talking Metal in 2005.

John Ostrosky a.k.a. John Ostronomy, was introduced to music by his father, a rock 'n' roll guitarist. By the time he received KISS "Alive!" on his seventh birthday, he was hooked for life.

His appreciation for music led him to Boston’s Berklee College of Music where he graduated with a 4.0 in Professional Music. It was there where he met Talking Metal co-host, Mark Strigl. After Berklee, Ostronomy relocated to New York City where he and Strigl began their TV careers at MTV Networks and appeared on numerous VH1 countdown shows including “100 Most Metal Moments,” “40 Least Metal Moments,” and “40 Freakiest Concert Moments.”

After gaining a reputable following, Ostronomy and Strigl launched the Talking Metal podcast which quickly shot to number one on the iTunes heavy metal charts. Legendary artists like Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, and Guns N’ Roses soon became staples on the show.

The podcast led to their first TV series, “Talking Metal on Fuse,” where they interviewed artists and jammed on each show with everyone from thrash veterans, Exodus, to newcomers, In This Moment, and legendary metal musicians including members of Anthrax, Overkill, Dream Theater, Guns N’ Roses, and Twisted Sister. They even wrote and recorded a brand new song in Gibson’s New York showroom with Ozzy Osbourne/Black Label Society guitarist Zakk Wylde and Guns N' Roses guitarist Bumblefoot.

Ostronomy has also performed live with artists including Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Bruce Kulick (KISS), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Marky Ramone (The Ramones), Mark Slaughter (Slaughter), Rob Dukes (Exodus), Metal Mike Chlasciak (Halford, Sebastian Bach), and Mark Middleton (Raging Slab).

Currently, Ostronomy plays guitar in Screaming Metal with Strigl and members of Overkill, Hades, and Non-Fiction. Talking Metal has also began creating new content for MTV Networks and recently made their debut on MTV2’s “Headbanger’s Ball.”
